12 duasاللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
Allah: there is no god but Him, the Ever Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth. Who can intercede with Him without His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them. They cannot encompass anything of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them is not a burden to Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great.
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
There is no god but You. Glory be to You. Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ
O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful instead of what You have made unlawful, and make me independent of all others through Your bounty.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا
Glory be to Allah who has subjected this to us, for we could not have done it ourselves. Indeed, we will return to our Lord.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbina la-munqalibun.
Glory be to Allah who has subjected this to us, for we could not have done it ourselves. Indeed, we will return to our Lord.

A dua is turning to Allah to ask for His help, to thank Him, to seek forgiveness and to worship Him alone. The Quran and the Sunnah mention conditions that help a dua be accepted: sincerity, living on lawful earnings, and calling upon Allah at the right times and with perseverance.
