اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ
Dua for minor and major sins
O Allah, forgive me all of my sins, the small and the great, the first and the last, the open and the hidden.
Sahih Muslim, 483اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا
Dua of Abu Bakr for forgiveness
O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself, and none forgives sins except You. So grant me forgiveness from Yourself and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
Sahih al-Bukhari, 834رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا
Dua of repentance of Prophet Adam
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers.
Surah Al-Araf, 23رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا
Dua for the forgiveness of sins
Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Surah Ali Imran, 16رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا
Dua for forgiveness and mercy
Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the best of those who show mercy.
Surah Al-Muminun, 109رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا
Dua of the angels for the believers
Our Lord, Your mercy and knowledge encompass all things. Forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.
Surah Ghafir, 7رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي
Dua of repentance for wronging oneself
My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.
Surah Al-Qasas, 16رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا
Dua of those of understanding
Our Lord, You did not create this in vain. Glory be to You. Protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Surah Ali Imran, 191اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو
Dua seeking refuge in the mercy of Allah
O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye. Set all my affairs right for me. There is none worthy of worship except You.
Sunan Abi Dawud, 5090إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Dua at a time of calamity
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. O Allah, reward me in my affliction and replace it for me with something better.
Sahih Muslim, 918اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِي
Dua for setting affairs right
O Allah, set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs. Set right for me my worldly life, in which is my livelihood. Set right for me my Hereafter, to which is my return. Make life an increase for me in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil.
Sahih Muslim, 2720رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا
Dua of trust in Allah
Our Lord, upon You we have relied, to You we have turned in repentance, and to You is the final return.
Surah Al-Mumtahanah, 4أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
Dua of istighfar
I ask forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no god worthy of worship, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.
Sunan Abi Dawud, 1517لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
The dhikr La hawla wa la quwwata
There is no power and no strength except with Allah (without His help, one can neither refrain from sin nor do good).
Sahih al-Bukhari, 6384لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ
Dua of Karb for severe anguish
There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.
Sahih al-Bukhari, 6346يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum dua
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all existence, I seek help through Your mercy.
Jami at-Tirmidhi, 3524حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
Hasbiyallah dua
Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but Him. I have put my trust in Him alone. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Surah At-Tawbah, 129لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
Dua for distress
There is no god but You. Glory be to You. Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.
Surah Al-Anbiya, 87اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ
Dua for grief and sorrow
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from grief and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
Sahih al-Bukhari, 6369اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا
Dua that makes hardship easy
O Allah, nothing is easy except what You make easy, and You make hardship easy if You will.
