Arabic

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Transliteration
Astaghfirullahalladhi la ilaha illa huwal-Hayyul-Qayyumu wa atubu ilayh.
Meaning
I ask forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no god worthy of worship, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.

When it is recited

Recited at any time, especially repeatedly after sin and at a time of distress.

Virtue

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that whoever says this istighfar will have their sins forgiven.
