قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ، مَلِكِ النَّاسِ، إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ، مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ، الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ، مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
- Transliteration
- Qul a'udhu birabbin-nas. Malikin-nas. Ilahin-nas. Min sharril-waswasil-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudurin-nas. Minal-jinnati wan-nas.
- Meaning
- Say: “I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers into the hearts of mankind, whether from among the jinn or mankind.”
When it is recited
It is recited three times in the morning and evening, before sleeping, and after the prayers together with Surah Al-Ikhlas and Surah Al-Falaq.
Virtue
Together with Surah Al-Falaq (Al-Muawwidhatayn), it is among the most virtuous surahs of refuge for protection from whispering, sorcery and every kind of harm.

It is reported from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to bed each night, he would recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas and blow onto his body.
