Arabic

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ، اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ، وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Transliteration
Qul huwallahu ahad. Allahus-Samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
Meaning
Say: “He is Allah, the One. Allah is As-Samad, the One free of need, whom all are in need of. He does not beget, nor is He begotten. There is none comparable to Him.”

When it is recited

It is recited three times in the morning and evening, before sleeping, and after the prayers together with Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas.

Virtue

According to a hadith, Surah Al-Ikhlas is equal to one third of the Quran; together with Al-Falaq and An-Nas it protects a person from every kind of harm.
