اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
- Transliteration
- Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatik.
- Meaning
- O Allah! Open the gates of Your mercy for me.
When it is recited
It is recited when entering the mosque with the right foot; on leaving, “Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik” (O Allah, I ask of Your bounty) is said.
Virtue
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught that on entering the mosque, one should send blessings upon him and recite this dua; on leaving, one should recite the dua of His bounty.
