Prices are calculated per person for a quad room: a triple room is about 10 percent, a double 15-20 percent, and a single room 25-30 percent more expensive. During the month of Ramadan, packages of the same level usually cost 20-45 percent more.

What affects the price?

The price difference between two seemingly identical packages usually comes down to these six factors. When comparing, ask about each one in writing.

  • Season

Because demand rises during Ramadan and the school holiday period, prices increase noticeably. Off-season months are more economical.

  • The hotel's distance from the Haram

Walking distance to al-Masjid al-Haram determines the bulk of the price. For hotels further away, be sure to ask about the shuttle schedule.

  • Room type

The base price is usually quoted for a quad room. Triple, double and single rooms raise the per-person price in stages.

  • Flight route

A direct flight is more expensive than a transit option, but considerably more comfortable for elderly pilgrims. Find out the transit duration in advance.

  • Trip duration

There is a difference in both hotel and meal costs between a 7-day package and a 10-14-day package. Clarify the number of days in Madinah.

  • Level of service

The number of meals, the ziyarat programme with a guide, room service and the size of the group all directly affect the price.

Extra costs outside the package

When budgeting, you should add these costs on top of the package price. Otherwise, unexpected amounts may come up in the middle of the trip.

  • Hady sacrifice

It is obligatory for those performing Tamattu' and Qiran Hajj. It is arranged through the official Adahi coupon system for 720 riyals (approximately 192 USD).

  • Daily personal expenses

It is practical to set aside 10-30 USD per day for water, extra meals, taxis and small necessities.

  • Gifts and souvenirs

Keep a separate budget for Zamzam water, dates and gifts; also take the return baggage limit into account.

  • Communication

A local SIM card or a roaming package should be compared before the trip; internet is important for staying in touch with the group.
