- "Al-Waliyy" means the Friend, Helper and Protector of the believers, who takes charge of their affairs. He brings out of darkness into light whoever believes in Him, helps in hardship, and protects against enemies. A servant who takes Allah as his "waliyy" has a true friend and helper.

Protector of the believers
The Quran states: "Allah is the Protector (Waliyy) of those who believe; He brings them out of darkness into light" (Al-Baqarah, 257). Whoever takes Allah as a friend is never left alone or without help.
The condition for this closeness
Faith and taqwa earn Allah's special closeness (wilayah): "Indeed, there is no fear for the friends (awliya) of Allah" (Yunus, 62). This closeness is strengthened through obedience and sincerity.
