Dogan

Dogan is the name of a widely distributed bird of prey of the falcon family in the ancient Turkic language, and it entered Azerbaijani with the same meaning. The falcon, known for its agility and strength as a hunting bird, has historically been regarded as a symbol of steadfastness and power among Turkic peoples.

Among raptor bird names like Togrul, Shahin, and Laçin, Dogan has been given to boy children since ancient times with wishes of strength and agility.
